The Insights page (also called Review) is your data quality dashboard. It surfaces two types of issues: incomplete transactions that need categorisation, and duplicate transaction groups that need resolution.

Incomplete transactions

An incomplete transaction is a transaction that is missing a source or destination account. This happens when a rule creates a transaction but does not have enough context to fill in both sides — for example, when you import data from a bank export and the counterparty is unknown.

Resolving an incomplete transaction

  1. Go to Insights (Review) in the sidebar.
  2. Find a transaction in the Incomplete list.
  3. Choose the correct account for the missing field (from account or to account).
  4. Click Save.

The transaction is updated and removed from the incomplete list.

Creating a categorisation rule

When you resolve an incomplete transaction, WealthMgr offers to create a categorisation rule so future transactions with the same description are automatically assigned to the right account.

Click Create rule on any resolved transaction, confirm or edit the keyword, and save. The rule is added to Automations with keyword matching enabled.

Tip

Build up your categorisation rules over a few months and your transactions will mostly arrive already categorised, requiring little manual work.

Duplicate transaction groups

A duplicate group is a set of transactions that WealthMgr suspects are the same real-world transaction recorded more than once. This can happen when importing data or when two rules both create a record for the same event.

Resolving duplicates

  1. Find a group in the Duplicates section.
  2. Review the transactions — same amount, similar date, same accounts.
  3. Click Merge to keep one transaction and delete the rest, or click Delete on the specific duplicates you want to remove.

Warning

Merging duplicates deletes all but one transaction in the group. This cannot be undone from the UI. Export a backup from Settings before doing bulk cleanup if you are unsure.

Tier limits

The number of incomplete transactions you can resolve per month is limited by your subscription tier. The limit is shown at the top of the Insights page. Upgrade to a paid plan for higher limits.

When to use Insights

Check the Insights page:

  • After your first few months of use, when your categorisation rules are still thin.
  • After importing a bank statement or bulk transaction file.
  • As part of a monthly review alongside the Reports and Alerts pages.
