Getting Started

WealthMgr stores your data locally in your browser. It syncs to the cloud only when you subscribe to a paid plan. This guide covers account creation and first-time setup.

Creating your account

You need an invitation link to register for WealthMgr.

  1. Open the invitation link sent to your email.
  2. Sign in with a passkey (recommended) or with email and password.
  3. Complete the passkey prompt in your browser or device (Face ID, fingerprint, or security key).
  4. You land on the Dashboard.

Tip

Passkeys work across all your devices without extra setup. If you signed up with a password, add a passkey from Getting Started or at Settings → Security.

First-time setup

After signing in, open Getting Started from the sidebar nav to run the wizards in order:

  1. Create more accounts — Create checking, savings, credit cards, and loan accounts with opening balances.
  2. Set up recurring income — Enter your net pay, frequency, and where each payment should be allocated.

The wizards pre-fill the data the rest of the app expects. You can always add accounts manually later.

The same page has a Passkey card. Click Set up passkey and complete your browser or device prompt (Face ID, fingerprint, or security key) to enable fast, passwordless sign-in. The card shows Completed once any passkey exists on your account.

Setting a goal

A goal tracks progress toward a savings target. At Budgets & Goals → Add goal, enter:

  • A name (e.g. “Emergency Fund”, “New car”)
  • A target amount
  • An optional target date — WealthMgr calculates the recommended monthly savings from this

A goal is a pocket inside one of your asset accounts, so it counts toward your actual balance. The Dashboard shows progress and the monthly amount needed to stay on track.

Setting a budget

A budget is a spending envelope with an allowance that refills on a schedule. At Budgets & Goals → Create budget (or the Budget card on the Getting Started page), enter:

  • A name (e.g. “Groceries”) and the allowance per period
  • A refill schedule — weekly, twice a month, or monthly on a day you pick
  • The funding account the allowance comes from, and the asset account the envelope lives in

Spending from the envelope lowers what’s left; unspent money rolls forward. Money counts against the allowance only when it leaves the envelope.

Info

Your data lives in your browser. Clearing site data or switching browsers loses your data unless you are on a paid plan with sync, or you export a backup from Settings.
